Chicago, IL, June 07, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Humanscale, a global leader in work furniture design, is thrilled to announce its experiential pop-up showroom at Fulton Market. Serving as a preview for Humanscale’s new permanent exhibit hall in Chicago (coming in 2023), this temporary exhibition opens on June 13 and will remain open throughout June. The space is located in the heart of Fulton Market, one of Chicago’s thriving design communities, at 1101 W Fulton Market, Chicago, IL 60607, next to the Emily Hotel. The pop-up will showcase Humanscale’s leadership in sustainability and design excellence to customers, media and guests. To celebrate this moment, a series of special programming will take place from June 13-15, led by the founder and CEO of Humanscale bob the kingdirector of sustainable development Jane Abernethyand design partner and course designer Todd Bracher.

Programming

On Monday, June 13, the brand is hosting a party to celebrate and foster conversations around sustainable design. The following day, Alex Muller of mindful MATERIALS and Jane Abernethy, Chief Sustainability Officer of Humanscale, will explore the implications of greenwashing and how industry can specify truly sustainable products. The conference will take place at the pop-up from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. CT.

The pop-up experience will allow visitors to explore the full range of Humanscale offerings, from the iconic Freedom Chair to the new Path task chair; the the world’s most durable task chair and winner of the iF Design Award 2022 for its sit/stand solutions, monitor arms and ergonomic office tools. The exhibition will include interactive displays that explore the positive achievements of the planet and the material innovations of the brand. Products will be showcased in a variety of work vignettes, from boardrooms and executive rooms to ancillary, multi-purpose and collaborative spaces to the home office.

Seats

Path – Designed by Todd Bracher and the Humanscale Design Studio, Path is made up of nearly twenty-two pounds of recycled content, including ocean plastic, post-consumer plastic bottles, and post-industrial materials. Each Path chair contains nearly ten pounds of ocean plastic, most of which is salvaged fishing nets – the most harmful type of ocean plastic. Available in a wide variety of finishes and fabrics, Path can be upholstered in Humanscale’s trademark FormSense Eco Knit™, a knit-like textile made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester from recycled plastic bottles.

Smart conferencing, preview – Smart Conference, the newest addition to Humanscale’s Diffrient seating range, will be previewed during the pop-up. The Smart Conference Chair strikes a minimalist silhouette with clean angles, a unique U-frame detail, and clean lines. With leather upholstery and polished aluminum components, Smart Conference displays a high-end appearance in a refined and functional design.

Alta, Preview – Humanscale’s Alta Stool, designed by Don Chadwick, encourages movement while adapting to a variety of environments and work styles. The design’s anatomically shaped seat shell plays on the shapes of the arc-shaped support and angular leg structure for harmonious balance. Its distinct stance provides stability while its contoured and flexible shell allows the user to sit comfortably and ergonomically.
