Om Swachtha Corporation, a solid waste management company based in Gujarat, will carry out sanitation works in 15 districts of Ayodhya Dham (former Ayodhya). In the rest of the city (former Faizabad), the company will provide mechanized sweeping and maintenance of lampposts.
Vishal Singh, Ayodhya municipal commissioner, said that following directives from the state government, the sanitation works were contracted out through a competitive bidding process.
Seven companies participated in the process. After careful consideration of the financial and technical offers, Om Swachtha Corporation emerged as the main candidate. Among seven companies, the first three were selected on the basis of their financial offers. Om Swachtha Corporation’s financial offers were the lowest, said an Ayodhya Municipal Corporation official. The company will focus on door-to-door garbage collection in the 15 neighborhoods.

The company plans to upload details of the three companies on its website.
Garbage collection is a major problem in Ayodhya Dham, with the flow of tourists increasing due to the ongoing construction of Ram Mandir. About 1,900 sanitation workers at the company failed to keep the city clean, an official said.
