Clean energy and mobility company Power Global announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with stationary storage integrator PositivEnergy and battery recycling processor Redivivus for lithium battery life cycle management and recycling. ion.

The partnership with PositivEnergy will focus on developing stationary storage solutions that support projected grid demand from electrification and enable the transition to renewables in various global markets, the company said in a statement.

Based on Power Global’s scalable battery technology, the stationary storage solution is expected to achieve a lifespan of 15 to 20 years. The complete solution will be integrated by PositivEnergy, which provides end-to-end system design and service for commercial energy storage and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

On the other hand, the partnership with Redivivus will focus on recycling stationary accumulator battery modules when they reach end of life and cost-effectively recover up to 92% of materials. Redivivus will offer mobile recycling units for Power Global’s sales and service centers across India and build recycling lines at Power Global’s factories in Pasadena, California, and Greater Noida, India, a he added.

Commenting on the partnerships, Pankaj Dubey, CEO of Power Global’s Indian subsidiary, said: “Despite the significant advantages of lithium-ion batteries over existing energy sources like internal combustion engines (ICE) or lead- acid, there are significant gaps in the supply chain. – namely the life cycle and recycling – which are only discussed now in the first markets of developed countries. ”

The company’s goal is to “integrate these aspects into our strategy from the start so that countries like India, which are now on the path to electrification, have a chance to overcome these challenges and move forward quickly and in a more sustainable manner ”.

Stating that now is a good time to think about not only how to accelerate electrification, but also how to do it in a sustainable manner, PositivEnergy Founder and CEO, Ed Wise, said, “The module of Power Global is a big step forward and Redivivus is an important part of the sustainability solution. ”

Redivivus Co-Founder and CEO Erika Guerrero said, “Recycling starts with making safe and quality battery products. Partnering with Power Global gives us the assurance that recycling adoption is thought through from concept to design.

Power Global CEO and Founder Porter Harris said the company has gained a lot of momentum and that “by applying the lessons learned from the development of energy storage solutions over the past decades and creating new Strategic partnerships with industry innovators, we are better equipped in the long run to consciously and responsibly create a sustainable and circular battery value chain. ”
