Lithuania’s trade balance goes into deficit in December

Lithuania’s trade balance recorded a deficit of 409.5 million euros in December compared to a surplus of 127.9 million euros in the same month in 2020, according to data from Statistics Lithuania.

Exports rose 23.7% year-on-year in December, following growth of 33.9% in November. Imports rose 45.8% year on year in December, after rising 35.7% the previous month.

On a month-to-month basis, exports fell 2.3% in December and imports fell 0.1%. In 2021, exports increased by 20.5% and imports decreased by 29.5%.
