City staff worked diligently to deal with the aftermath of the June 16 severe weather event.
Crews made extensive rounds across the city picking up branches and debris brought onto the streets by residents since then. As such, curbside collection will cease until regular fall collection resumes in October. The Leaf and Yard Waste Depot located at 31 Wallbridge Cres. will remain open and can be used to clear any other branches or debris from the storm during normal business hours. More information is available on line. Staff will continue to work on all outstanding tree work orders and issues that have been identified with City-owned trees.
“I want to especially thank all of the city staff who worked extremely hard to clean up the city after the storm,” said Mayor Mitch Panciuk. “It was a huge undertaking and their efforts were often beyond the call of duty. They care passionately about our city and it shows. Thank you also to our residents for their understanding and cooperation as we begin to return to regular City operations. I am so proud of how our community has come together since this significant event.
